About 177853 Chip (Off Site Foster)

CHIP - 5 years old, 50 pounds, house trained, GREAT WITH PEOPLE, needs to be the only pet.

Chip is no stranger to the shelter unfortunately, but it has been a while since he's seen the inside of a cage. He was surrendered a few years ago when his family could no longer care for him and his canine housemate. He's back again and we'd like to find him a home where he will get lots of walks, lots of cuddles and lots of love.

It seems Chip might choose his one person and that person becomes his life. He might be indifferent to others but def shows love to his person.

I approached him slowly with my leash and he allowed me to slip it over his head. I could tell he was nervous so I didn't reach out to him. I did offer treats but he declined.

We walked outside and he remained cautious, observant of everything going on around him.

He sat for treats when we were away from the shelter grounds. He def was more comfortable at that time.

His serious expression (that face!) drew me in as he slowly warmed up to me and even took some treats.

Chip is house trained and bc he is experienced at living in a home, he can be trusted to roam free while left alone.

Chip is said to be good with kids but does need proper introductions. He doesn't like it when strangers just reach out to him, even if it is a hand for him to sniff. Keep your hands to yourself! He can sniff you fine without that reach.

Chip is easy on a leash, loves to go for walks and loves plush toys.

He needs to be muzzled at the vet.

Chip is currently in a back kennel so if you are interested, come in and ask to meet him.
