About Abilene

Abilene is an affectionate indoor dog who enjoys going on walks and spending time right by your side. She’s fully potty trained and always lets you know when she needs to go out. She can comfortably hold her potty for 4–12 hours, but she is not used to being left alone — her previous owners report that she becomes anxious without people around. When left by herself, Abilene may bark or howl so she will thrive in a home where she doesn’t have to be left for too long! Abilene loves hugs, pets, and all-over affection — she’s comfortable being touched anywhere and absolutely melts under attention. She’s allowed on furniture in her previous home and happily snuggles up for car rides. Abilene knows sit, stay, and “treat,” and she’s a friendly, vocal, playful girl who enjoys greeting visitors. She does not have an overbearing personality and is very polite! Abilene loves running, hiking, and exploring the great outdoors. She would be a fantastic fit for someone who enjoys adventurous outings as much as she does! Abilene gets along well with men, adores women and children, and loves playing with other dogs. We can always provide a dog meet and greet prior to adopting if needed! However, she should not live with cats, small animals, or livestock — she loves to chase them. Her previous owners also shared that she is afraid of fireworks and appreciated comfort during these scary times. Abilene is a very good girl who was loved. We want nothing more than to find her someone who will love her just as much as her previous owners!
